Services

Have you ever looked around the room and thought, “I do not belong here”, “I am not good enough”, or “I do not know how to get through this”? Perhaps these thoughts come up in your workplace, relationships, parenting, life changes or everyday life situations. Maybe growing up in an immigrant family or being an immigrant yourself, you were pushed to be better, do better, or do more while feeling the weight of your family, culture and society. Sometimes those expectations could even feel conflicting.

Despite life lessons and resiliency that shaped you into the adult you are today, you may feel like something is still missing or some of those thoughts continue bothering you. Having self-doubt, putting others’ needs before your own, feeling torn between your family expectations and what you want, or not knowing how to set boundaries to take care of yourself are all common experiences Latino/a/e go through.

When you reach a point where it no longer feels like you, it takes courage to reach out and ask for help. In therapy you can begin to explore patterns, use your knowledge and experiences to make sense of your life, and modify what is not working for you. You begin to set realistic expectations, boundaries, and let go of those things that no longer serve you. You begin to take control of your life and your decisions so it feels right for you. You learn to navigate your roles in your workplace, culture, society, history, family, relationships, and/or gender. Over time you can learn to prioritize the things that are important to you with intentionality and courage to feel the strength of your own identity and begin to thrive.

Whatever it is that has called to you today, therapy can help. Reach out today to learn more!
