Frequently Asked Questions About Online Therapy in Arizona
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You may have questions about whether therapy is right for you, how sessions work, insurance, and what to expect when getting started.
Below are some of the questions we hear most often about online therapy in Arizona.
Who do you work with?
We work with adults age 18 and older throughout Arizona who are ready to explore therapy and make meaningful changes in their lives.
We offer individual therapy and couples therapy through secure telehealth sessions. Our approach is compassionate, person-centered, and culturally responsive, with an understanding that your family, culture, identity, relationships, and life experiences can all shape your mental health.
We work with clients experiencing concerns such as:
- Anxiety and overthinking
- Depression
- Trauma and difficult life experiences
- Pregnancy or postpartum
- Grief and loss
- Self-esteem and self-worth
- Relationship and family concerns
- Cultural identity and acculturation
- Boundaries and people-pleasing
- Life transitions and major changes
As a Latina and bilingual therapist, I understand that culture can be an important part of the therapy process. Therapy can be a space where you can explore your experiences and identity without having to leave your cultural background at the door.
Do you accept insurance?
Insurance coverage depends on your specific plan and benefits.
We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare, which means we can bill your insurance directly for eligible therapy sessions.
If you have another insurance provider, we can provide you with a superbill, which is a receipt documenting your therapy services and payment. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to submit the superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement.
You may also be able to use funds from a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for eligible therapy expenses. We recommend checking directly with your insurance company or HSA provider to understand your specific benefits and eligibility.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
Currently, all therapy sessions are provided virtually through telehealth.
Online therapy allows you to meet with your therapist from the privacy and comfort of your own space while receiving therapy anywhere in Arizona where you are located able to receive services.
Telehealth can be especially helpful if you have a busy schedule, prefer the comfort of your home, or don’t want to spend time traveling to and from appointments.
How long is a therapy session?
Individual therapy sessions are 60 minutes.
During your first session, we will spend time getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, discussing your current concerns, and exploring what you hope to get from therapy.
Together, we will develop goals for your therapy and determine how frequently sessions may be helpful. Some people benefit from weekly sessions, while others may eventually transition to less frequent appointments.
The goal of therapy isn’t to keep you in therapy indefinitely. The goal is to help you develop the insight, skills, and tools you need to feel more confident navigating life on your own.
Your therapy journey should be collaborative and guided by what you need.
How do I get started with therapy?
Getting started is simple.
Click the Get Started button and provide your contact information. We’ll reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
During the consultation, we’ll talk about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you may have, and discuss whether our services and approach feel like a good fit for you.
If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your initial intake appointment and begin developing your therapy goals together.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy.
You simply have to be willing to take the first step.
If you’ve been looking for an Arizona therapist, online therapist, Latina therapist, or culturally responsive therapy, we’d be happy to connect and explore whether we’re a good fit.
